2016: Set Goals, not Resolutions
Do you make a list of resolutions every year…and then find last year’s list and realize it is exactly the same?!
No more – this year, set goals and leave resolutions in the dust.
Remember not to stretch yourself too thin – just set 3-5 goals.
Make sure you’re “SMART” – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-based. As in – you’re not about to be a supermodel if you’re a middle-aged dad of four with a bit of a penchant for beer. Just keep it real. (learn more about “SMART” here)
Write ’em down. Studies show that the simple act of placing a list on paper (or your phone, computer, whatever) helps people stick with it.
Enlist a buddy. If you’re a bit of a loner, or think your friends might not be super supportive of your goal, try checking out coach.me – a site that helps you achieve your goals.
And remember – you can always change your mind. If a goal isn’t working for you, or your priorities shift, feel free to just cross it off the list. Life changes, and projects do too. Give yourself a pass and remember you’re human.
