Don’t Forget the Big Picture
Don’t forget the big picture. Sometimes we are so focused on the little strands of data whizzing around us, and doing all we can to collect and process as much as possible that we forget to look up and see the view. Did you notice the mountains in the photo above? Next time you’re overwhelmed by all the whizzing numbers and data, just stretch and look up and see the big picture. Try these office stretches from the Mayo Clinic next time you’re feeling blue at the office. Also be sure to keep a couple of personal keepsakes around your desk or cubicle, or even in your bag with you if you don’t have a permanent workstation. It can help to remind you that your whole life isn’t your work, because even when you are passionate about your work, it’s good to carry some talismans to keep things in perspective.
Also try drinking lots of water, and keeping a little snack in your desk for a quick boost of energy in the afternoon. A piece of fruit and some nuts are great, and having something extra hydrating like coconut water is even better.
