Expanding the Internet – Image of the Week
I read with fascination earlier this year that the internet was about to run out of space. Apparently there are one million new addresses required every four hours due in part to all of the new smart phones being used. To accommodate all of these new devices, IPv6 was created.
This new system of numbering unique internet protocol addresses now allows for 340 trillion trillion trillion unique IP addresses. What are the chances that at some point another new system will be needed to accommodate even more users than that? Not likely!
