Harmony – Image of the Week

The image of this bowl of smooth stones gives me a feeling of harmony and peacefulness. I took the photo at a friend’s house who had collected the stones and arranged them in a large bowl.

I love it. Each stone is different but seems at ease with its place in the bowl. It’s too bad we can’t all just get along like these rocks. They are smooth now but it took many years of weathering and rubbing against other rocks to smooth over the rough edges.

Sometimes despite years of agitation with each other,  humans can actually smooth the rough edges of their attitude as they age as well. Sadly, our physical appearance only smooths with the help of plastic surgery.
