I recently completed another portrait of Abraham Lincoln out of American pennies. I had a number of left over coins from my previous project “Two Sides of the Same Coin,” and thought I would put them to good use. The piece is mounted on a copper plate, and is approximately 18″x20″.Here is an image of the project before I enhanced the pennies by lightening and darkening selected areas with a pencil eraser and pen.
Here it is against my fireplace mantle.
It will be showing in the “ReVsion” recycled art show this summer September 5th to 7th on Granville Island in Vancouver. It just needs to be framed.
