A common symbol of good luck that we can all relate to is the four-leaf clover. It is said that each of the four leaves means something different: the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

Four-leaf clovers are an uncommon find among a patch of clovers which generally have only three leaves. On wikipedia, they say it is estimated that for every four-leaf clover there are 10,000 with only three leaves!
