Making waves – Image of the week
The process to get this shot was quite involved. The water ripples were taken in my studio using an upside down baby bottle with ice in it so that the water would drip out of the nipple slowly. I shot the image using my Nikon F100 with a 200mm micro lens and a Nikon flash. The difficult part was timing the shutter to open just after the water droplet had hit the water. I went through many rolls of film :>) I used 3D Studio Max to create the land mass part of the globe and then used Photoshop to combine all of the elements together. The finished image depicts the importance of water to our global community.

Hi Yana, all the images on this site are available to use after paying a royalty. You need to pay for commercial or advertising use. For this globe image, you can find it in the library two ways.
One is to search using the search box on the lower left. If you hover your mouse over the image it will give you a description of the image. Using some of those words in the search will get you to the search results page where you can find the image you need.
Alternatively, you can navigate to the individual image page by clicking on the appropriate thumbnail category on the right. In this case, the globe can be found at
globes » specialty » globe as water droplet
Click on the shopping cart icon and it will take you to my agency’s site where you can continue on to purchase the image.
Good luck!
