Media Saturation

It seems wherever you go, there is someone wanting to tell or sell you something.  This photo taken in Monteal of a post filled with old staples gives you some indication of the hundreds of notices and posters that once hung there.

I’ve noticed more unusual places where ads are showing up: on the restraining bar of a ski lift, at eye level above urinals in men’s bathrooms. Talk about a captive audience. Is no place sacred! Some guy will even tatoo your logo on his forehead if you pay him enough.

At least we can still turn off the TV or computer to stop the visual bombardment in our own homes, but if you are out in public, there is not much you can do to avoid it. So you might as well enjoy the thought and creativity that has gone into some of these ads, some of them are genuinely entertaining.

    Hi Bill,
That’s a great shot! As a marketing student I certainly understand the sales noise we all receive on a daily basis. Amazingly enough it’s also a primitive way of communication that still works today. And if electronics fail us -messages stapled on a on a post will continue to communicate our messages for us:)
