The flavour of a “fresh from the garden” strawberry is hard to beat. I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of fresh berries on the plants in my garden. Still a wee bit cold here to even see the flowers on the plants but this picture taken at a local farmer’s market last year gets my mouth watering. This image was taken with my Nikon D2X with a 18-70 mm lens at f8.

I am always drawn to the amazingly vivid colours that occur in nature. This fern leaf caught my eye as a ray of sunshine highlighted its intense green colour. This image was taken using my Nikon D2X with a 70 – 180 mm micro lens.

Interestingly, I was so focused on the dragonfly that I didn’t even see the spider that is camouflaged on the stick. It wasn’t until I was looking at the image on my computer screen later that I noticed it.

This image was created in 3D Studio Max. Within this program I created the globe and applied the stone texture. I then used Photoshop to add the rust coloured back ground to the image.
