Product Versus Process

In a winery, process is everything to the final product.  You must nurture the plants that provide the grapes, hope that the weather in the location that you have selected is conducive to a good growing season for the fruit, and finally you must harvest at the right time.  Then there is the processing of the grapes to turn them into juice, and the fermentation of the grapes into wine, and bottling of the wine.  If you put out a commercial product, there is the entire other side of marketing, packaging, and shipping.

What kind of worker are you?  Do you like process, or are you more attracted to product?  Unfortunately, unless you are in a very specific job, you will have to oversee not only the process but also the product.  Make sure you’re putting your energy into the right product, and you will enjoy the process, because you will know in your heart that it is worth the stages that you must go through.  Have you got your heart in the right place?
