Sands of Time

The sands of time

Time is running out. It isn’t until someone who is close to you is diagnosed with a terrible disease or a loved one is nearing the end that one starts to take a look at their own life and realize how little time we have left on planet earth.

The average person only has 960 months if you live to 80, so don’t let another month slip away without doing something to work towards what you deem to be really important, whether that be spending time with and providing for your family, or excelling at school or some creative endeavor.

Most of us already know what we should be doing but find some excuse not to do it. Every grain of sand through the hourglass is a gift. Don’t let it take a tragedy to make you aware of how fleeting life is.

Enjoy your life! but also aspire towards something bigger than aquiring the latest bigscreen TV. When all is said and done and all the sand is at the bottom, we all want to have somehow left our mark on the world and the people left in it.

To add to what you said, recovering from a potently life ending event and climbing out the other side makes you think everyday from then on is a bonus day, and to live it like a gift.
