Summer Allergies – Image of the Week

Summer allergies got you sneezing and blurry eyed? These spiky little balls are what goldenrod pollen looks like through high power magnifying scopes. Goldenrod, a bright yellow headed flower that blooms in late summer is often unfairly blamed for causing hay fever in humans.

I used electron microscope images of Goldenrod pollen I found on the internet as a reference and then modeled the spheres using 3D Studio Max.
