The Gore Range

This panoramic of a famous vista in Vail, Colorado was based on a photo I took of the Gore mountain range in 2008. It measures over 5 feet in length and is comprised of 1656 Indian Autumn hand cut 7/8 inch slate tiles.

The piece now resides in Colorado which is fitting given the subject matter and tile source. The tiles were hand-cut by my friend Armando from Colorado Custom Tile and Stone.
